I had only put 1 app on the drive and do not care that it is erased. You cannot remove the first volume on the disk. There is message text below the size field 'This volume has 40.2 GB used space. The instructions say to click Partition but that action is greyed out. The size field is greyed out and the value shows as 1,000GB. When I select the drive and click Partition, it displays the name, the format is ExFAT and there is a size field. After Erasing My Passport drive, the instructions are to Partition the drive. I found the instructions and am trying to follow them. On MacBook Pro with High Sierra OS, I want to reformat my MyPassport to ExFAT so I can place files there from my MAC and from my Windows 10. Click the Erase button and the drive will start formatting. Select the format – Mac OS Extended (HFS+), MS-DOS (FAT32), or exFAT – then name the drive. Select your external hard drive or USB flash drive from the list on the left. Launch Disk Utility (Applications > Utilities). Format a drive using Disk Utility on a Mac.
